7th International Day of Yoga was celebrated in Jammu Institute of Ayurveda and Research

7th International Day of Yoga was celebrated in Jammu Institute of Ayurveda and Research, Jammu today on 21st June, 2021 . The idea of International Day of Yoga was announced by our Honorable Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi at United Nations General Assembly on 27 Sept 2014. Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice originated in India. It refers to create stability in the mind in order to experience ultimate reality and move towards self realization. The theme of this year’s Yoga Day -“Be with yoga, be at home”. JIAR conducted 3 days workshop -Amrut Yoga on 18,19,20 June 2021 on topics Pre covid, covid and post covid Yoga asana along with college level competition as e –slogan, e-poster and e-yoga poses. Yoga day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Yoga hall of Swasthvritta Deptt of JIAR at 09 am on 21st june 2021 . The event was organized with the blessings of late Dr. Rooplal Sharma Sir, Chairperson Madam Smt. Suman Sharma, Managing Directors Mr. Ritesh Sharma and Mr. Ravish Sharma. CEOs Smt. Japna & Jasudha Madam, Director Academics Dr. Raghuvir Singh Sir, Principal Madam Dr. Sharada , Vice Principal Dr. Nitin Mahajan. Teaching staff, Non taeaching staff, students, interns and technical team participated in the yoga session. The chief guest of todays event was Sh. Mahavir Gupta ji State Patron Arogya Bharti Jammu & Kashmir, Mr. Abhishek Sharma organizing secretary, Sh. Shashikant lakhanpal ji ,State Secretary Arogya Bharti, Sh. SUBASH Gupta ji, State Treasurer Arogya Bharti was also present in the event. The event was started with the lighting of lamp followed by chanting of Dhanwantari vandana, and Patanjali vandana. Honourable Sh. Mahavir Gupta shared his yogic treasure with participants. Meditation and pranayama was performed by Sh. Subash Gupta with guidance of Sh. Mahavir Gupta ji. Sukshma asana , sitting asana and yoga asana for appropriate management of COVID were performed by interns and faculty members. The winners of the e competitions was announced at the end of the session by Dr. Sharada , Principal JIAR. The session was concluded by thank speech delivered by respected Director Academics Dr. Raghuvir Singh. The event was attended by more than 100 peoples through live and virtual session. The intention of this programme was for integrated approach of health care.
