Ayurveda for Mental Well Being
With the blessings of Late Dr Rooplal Sharma Sir and Chairperson of Sain Charitable Trust, Jammu-Shri Suman Sharma Ma’am, Jammu Instituteof Ayurveda And Research, Nardani ,Jammu organised World Ayurveda Day celebrations on 10th October 2022. The event was a part of the weeklong (10/10/22-15/10/22) programs which have been organised to demonstrate the importance of Ayurveda in Mental Health, under the celebrations to commemorate the 7th Ayurveda Day, with the theme “Har Din Har Ghar Ayurveda “.
The event began with lighting of lamp followed by Dhanvantri Vandana. This was followed by the elocution competition on the topic “ Importance of mental well being in youth”. Students of JIAR, Jammu, actively participated for the competition and laid emphasis on the importance of mental health awareness and role of Ayurveda and Yoga for treatment of metal disorders through their speeches. The competition was judged by the senior faculty members of JIAR Jammu namely, Dr Vikas Gupta, Dr Manu Sharma and Dr Poonam Gupta. Thereafter the students of 3 rd Prof BAMS, presented posters through which they demonstrated the concept of Mental well being in Ayurveda, treatment modalities and importance of Sadvritt( good conduct) for preventing mental disorders. The event also included an E - Poster competition in which the UG, PG students and Interns of JIAR, Jammu submitted their entries online on the topic “Ayurveda for Mental Well Being”.
The event was instrumental in creating awareness about making mental well being an important priority amongst the students and the staff.
