JIAR Conducts Visit to Water Filtration Plant SITLEE , Nagrota, Jammu
The Department of Swasthavritta, Jammu Institute of Ayurveda and Research (JIAR), organized an educational visit for the 2nd year BAMS students (2021-22 batch) to the Water Filtration Plant in Nagrota on 20th January 2025. The visit aimed to provide practical exposure and enhance students’ understanding of water filtration and supply systems.

A total of 40 students, accompanied by Dr. Palvi Dubey, Dr. Vinod Kumar, and Dr. Rajeev Singh Assistant Professor, Department of Swasthavritta, participated in the visit.During the visit, the students explored four key units of the water filtration system, starting with the intake unit, which demonstrated how water from the Tawi River is collected. The staff of the plant explained the filtration process, including the use of alum for purification and the step-by-step methodology to ensure clean and safe water to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
